If you have been searching for a coin dealer near Maryville, Tennessee, Blount County's options do not match our credentials or buying power. Clemson Coins in Pendleton, SC is the highest buyer and the most credentialed dealer in the entire region.
Maryville is the seat of Blount County, Tennessee, one of the most historically significant counties in the state. The town was established in 1795 and named for William Blount, the territorial governor of the Southwest Territory, and it grew as a commercial and educational center at the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains. Maryville College, founded in 1819, is one of the oldest colleges in the South and gave the city an intellectual and cultural character that distinguished it from other East Tennessee communities. Blount County's location at the foot of the Smokies made it a crossroads for travelers, traders, and settlers moving into the mountain interior, and the wealth accumulated by the county's merchant and professional families across the nineteenth and twentieth centuries included gold coins, silver flatware, and currency that has passed through generations of Blount County estates.
The twentieth century brought significant industrial development to Blount County, most notably the Aluminum Company of America's massive Alcoa plant, which transformed the economy of the county and created a prosperous working and middle class whose savings often took the form of pre-1964 silver coinage and pre-1933 gold coins. The Alcoa plant, one of the largest aluminum production facilities in the world at its peak, employed thousands of Blount County residents for decades and left behind a legacy of accumulated wealth that still surfaces in estate sales today.
Today Maryville is a thriving city of nearly 30,000 residents, one of the fastest-growing communities in East Tennessee. Its location between Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has made it a destination for retirees, outdoor enthusiasts, and professionals seeking a high quality of life outside the Knoxville metro. The surrounding Blount County countryside, with its scenic mountain views and historic small towns, has produced generations of families whose accumulated savings and inherited collections now need a serious, credentialed buyer.
Despite Maryville's size and prosperity, Blount County's coin dealers do not have the credentials or buying power of Clemson Coins, 90 minutes away in Pendleton, South Carolina. Sellers from Maryville, Alcoa, and the surrounding Blount County area make the drive because the difference in what they receive is real and significant. Blount County estate attorneys and trust officers refer clients to us when a collection needs a buyer with the expertise to pay numismatic value and the financial strength to close the deal the same day. Clemson Coins Pays The Most, ALWAYS!

A reputable dealer will be authorized by the major grading services and industry organizations. At Clemson Coins, we are the only dealer in the region with all of the following authorizations:
Most coin dealers, pawn shops, and gold buyers pay only melt value. A true numismatist knows that a 1916-D Mercury Dime, a 1921 Peace Dollar, or a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent are worth far more than their metal content alone. We pay numismatic premiums on coins that deserve them, and we have the expertise to recognize them.
You should never have to wait for your money. When you sell to Clemson Coins, you walk out with cash or check in hand the same day. There is no waiting, no mailing, and no uncertainty about when you will get paid.
Blount County families have accumulated generations of coins, currency, and precious metals. Whether you have a single coin or an entire estate collection, we look at everything at no charge and with no obligation.
Liberty Head, Saint-Gaudens, Indian Head -- all denominations. Full numismatic value paid.
Morgan and Peace dollars, Walking Liberty halves, Mercury dimes, Standing Liberty quarters.
American Eagles, Maple Leafs, Krugerrands, bars and rounds -- all sizes and weights.
1916-D Mercury Dime, 1909-S VDB, 1921 Peace Dollar and all key dates across every series.
Large size notes, silver certificates, gold certificates, national bank notes, Confederate currency.
We purchase complete collections and estates in a single transaction. No cherry-picking.
All karats of gold, sterling silver, platinum. Weighed and priced at current spot.
Complete and partial sets, serving pieces, hollowware. Paid by weight at current silver spot.
Blount County estate collections reflect the county's Alcoa industrial heritage and mountain gateway history. Blount County estates regularly surface pre-1933 gold coins, pre-1964 silver coinage, national bank notes from Blount County banks, Confederate currency, and sterling silver flatware. Many estates today also include American Silver and Gold Eagles in both mint state and proof examples, proof and mint sets, specialty sets, complete and partial sets of Indian Head cents, Lincoln cents, all dimes, quarters and half dollars, and of course Morgan and Peace dollars. Maryville is one of East Tennessee's most prosperous cities, but Blount County's coin dealers still do not match our credentials or buying power. Sellers from Maryville and the surrounding area make the 90-minute drive to Pendleton because the difference in what they receive is real and significant. Neighboring communities like Lenoir City, TN and Knoxville, TN face the same situation — no local dealer with the expertise to pay numismatic value on key-date coins, rare currency, or estate-quality collections. Blount County estate attorneys and trust officers refer clients to us when a collection needs a buyer with the financial strength to close the deal the same day.
Every seller from Maryville left with more than they were offered locally. Sellers from Athens, TN and Madisonville, TN make the same calculation — the drive to Pendleton is the most profitable decision they make. Whether you have a single pre-1933 gold coin, a box of pre-1964 silver coins, or an entire Alcoa-era estate collection assembled over decades, we have the expertise to recognize what you have and the buying power to pay you what it is worth. "JUST GO TO CLEMSON COINS! Hands down the BEST buyer for your jewelry & coins! I went to a few other places that were enroute to Clemson Coins — let's just say I was offered between 20% and 40% melt value at the other places. Within 5 minutes and no goofing around with acid tests (they have an XRF machine) I was offered more than a reasonable percentage of melt value from Clemson Coins. Don't get GOT at the other places! Worth the drive from Charlotte, NC if that tells you anything! Honest people are hard to find! I won't go anywhere else from now on!"

"Great place! I've gone in several times and found some really cool stuff. They have anything you could want at a really good price! I've gone in for different historical coins for my collection but have also purchased rare metals coins from them and they are very fair with the pricing. Additionally they are very helpful and will answer any questions you have about coins, you can tell they want to help you out! Highly recommend!"
