If you have been searching for a coin dealer near Rockwood, Tennessee, Roane County's options are limited and most pay far less than they should. Clemson Coins in Pendleton, SC is the highest buyer and the most credentialed dealer in the entire region.
Rockwood is a small city in Roane County, Tennessee, situated on the Emory River at the base of the Cumberland Plateau. The city grew in the late nineteenth century as an iron-making center, taking advantage of the local iron ore deposits and the coal available from the surrounding plateau. The Roane Iron Company, founded in 1867, was one of the first iron companies in the South to use coke-fired blast furnaces, and Rockwood became a significant industrial center whose prosperity attracted workers and their families from across the region. The families who came to work in Rockwood's iron industry brought with them the savings of previous generations, often in the form of pre-1933 gold coins and pre-1964 silver coinage that has since passed through Roane County estates.
The iron industry declined in the early twentieth century as larger steel centers in Birmingham and Pittsburgh outcompeted the smaller Southern operations, but Rockwood's economy diversified into other manufacturing and service industries. The Tennessee Valley Authority's development of the region brought new economic opportunities, and the construction of Watts Bar Dam created Watts Bar Lake, which transformed the local landscape and economy. The families who worked in these industries accumulated savings that, for many, took the form of pre-1964 silver coinage and pre-1933 gold coins that now surface in Roane County estate sales.
Today Rockwood is a quiet community of about 5,500 residents, with Roane County's population approaching 55,000. The city's location on I-40 between Knoxville and Chattanooga has made it a convenient stop for travelers and a growing bedroom community for professionals working in both metro areas. The surrounding Roane County countryside, with its rolling farmland and access to Watts Bar Lake, has produced generations of families whose accumulated savings and inherited collections now need a serious, credentialed buyer.
Despite Rockwood's history and the wealth accumulated across generations of Roane County families, the city has no coin dealer with the credentials or buying power of Clemson Coins, 95 minutes away in Pendleton, South Carolina. Sellers from Rockwood, Harriman, and the surrounding Roane County area make the drive because the difference in what they receive is real and significant. Roane County estate attorneys and trust officers refer clients to us when a collection needs a buyer with the expertise to pay numismatic value and the financial strength to close the deal the same day. Clemson Coins Pays The Most, ALWAYS!

Most coin dealers, pawn shops, and gold buyers pay only melt value. A true numismatist knows that a 1916-D Mercury Dime, a 1921 Peace Dollar, or a 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent are worth far more than their metal content alone. We pay numismatic premiums on coins that deserve them, and we have the expertise to recognize them.
You should never have to wait for your money. When you sell to Clemson Coins, you walk out with cash or check in hand the same day. There is no waiting, no mailing, and no uncertainty about when you will get paid.
Roane County families have accumulated generations of coins, currency, and precious metals. Whether you have a single coin or an entire estate collection, we look at everything at no charge and with no obligation.

"Our dog was attacked and needed an emergency surgery totaling over $4k. We called Clemson Coins and decided it's worth a visit, I have never sold or pawned anything so this was my first experience. Everybody at Clemson Coin seemed to be knowledgeable and helpful, it was a Saturday and the place was pretty busy. Joe asked a few questions about our dog since he is a dog lover, he gave me an estimate, it was fair and the transaction was smooth and straightforward. We went there trying to turn Gold into Cash, and it worked out perfectly fine. Highly recommended! P.S. I think Deena and Pebbles would have given me a better rate. LOL"

"For a 1st time buyer, they were extremely helpful with helping pick out some metals for gifts, and had a good selection of different pieces to fit the occasion. The price was fair from what I could see as they were only a few dollars above the current market rates you can find online as you would expect from a brick and mortar exchange. I will definitely be back for future needs."

The facility is clean, well-maintained, and professionally presented. They offer a diverse selection of silver coins, gold bullion, older currency, and collectible coins. I would highly recommend their services to anyone seeking fair pricing and a reputable business."

"JUST GO TO CLEMSON COINS! Hands down the BEST buyer for your jewelry & coins! I went to a few other places that were enroute to Clemson Coins — let's just say I was offered between 20% and 40% melt value at the other places. Within 5 minutes and no goofing around with acid tests (they have an XRF machine) I was offered more than a reasonable percentage of melt value from Clemson Coins. Don't get GOT at the other places! Worth the drive from Charlotte, NC if that tells you anything! Honest people are hard to find! I won't go anywhere else from now on!"
